Hot-melt Adhesive for Textile Lamination WD8520
WD8520 is a single component reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive, which is a solid at room temperature, becomes a liquid after heating, and forms a preliminary bond after coating and bonding. It then has excellent adhesion, temperature resistance, water resistance, oil resistance, and aging resistance due to its ability to cure with air and moisture on the surface of the bonded material.
The product complies with the limit of volatile organic compounds in adhesives (GB33372-2020).
WD8520 is used for composite bonding of functional fabric with TPU film and TPEF film materials.
1.Single component, easy to manage, suitable for mechanized operation, high efficiency.
2.Solid content of 100%, no pollution, environmentally friendly.
3.Long opening time and high initial adhesion.
4.Excellent flexibility.

Preprocessing
1.The bonded surface has oil stains, dust, and affects the bonding strength, requiring clean, dry, oil-free, or dust-free treatment.
2.For materials such as PP with surface energy below 32 dynes, corona or flame treatment is required to ensure that the dyne value reaches 36 or above.
3.The surface temperature of the adhered material during use should not be lower than 20 ℃. If the temperature is too low, the opening time will be shortened, which may affect the operation time and lead to poor adhesion or even detachment. If it is necessary to bond the material, it needs to be heated.
Coating method
1.The melt adhesive process uses a sealed melt adhesive tank and a 20L/200L melt adhesive system. If any abnormal viscosity, particles, foaming, or other phenomena are found during the melt adhesive process, please contact Kangda technical sales personnel immediately.
2.The coating method includes rolling, scraping, and spraying.
Curing time
WD8520 aims to achieve complete curing, and the bonded product should be stored at an appropriate temperature or humidity (temperature 25 ℃, humidity 50% or above, and strength of 80% or above after curing for 3 days). The curing process depends on the following factors:
1.Humidity and temperature in the storage and usage environment.
2.Humidity on the surface of the bonded substrate.
3.Breathability of the bonded substrate.
4.Adhesive area/adhesive layer thickness in application.
Cleaning method
1.Melt glue system: Special cleaning agent WD8600 is used for rinsing.
2.Glue application system: The scraper and roller are rinsed with specialized cleaning agent WD8602.
3.For already cured adhesives, please consult with Kangda technicians.
1.Local exhaust devices should be installed in the operating area to ensure ventilation.
2.Hot melt adhesive must be heated when used, and personal protective equipment such as work clothes, cotton gloves, protective masks, goggles, etc. should be worn.
3.Due to the moisture curing reaction of the product, the packaging sealing should be carefully checked before use to ensure complete sealing and product integrity.
4.WD8520 should not be mixed with other grades of hot melt adhesive for use.
5.Please read the product safety manual carefully before use.
Environmental temperature: Store in a cool and dry room at 5-35 ℃.
Storage period in the original sealed container: 9 months.
Aluminum foil bag/drum composite sealed packaging: 20kg/drum or 200kg/drum.
